Can I ask what SALT provision were you offered in your first EHCP draft? Thinking about using a private SALT /mediation/tribunal to try to push for greater provision as NHS are likely to recommend once per term 😭🙄. Any thoughts or recommendations for expert witnesses? (Midlands/Worcestershire area). Did your SALT provision improve /increase after going to tribunal? Thank you!

My DS had a special
School placement named on EHCP so gets salt 1:1 every week with qualified therapist and this is then reinforced by his LSA

Thanks Tainbri - does your son have an ASD diagnosis or are his primary needs language such as SLI? Thanks for responding!

Not ASD but SALT and language processing, profound "dyslexia" (I put it in inverted commas because the LA won't actually call it that!) dyscalculia, quite a few low centile areas including visual perception. I actually found that finding the right place was the main issue and then focussed on making the EHCP fit. He's got a special school placement so is able to get SALT, OT etc more regularly than he would at mainstream.

DS, at his mainstream, received speech and language therapy three times a term !

Moved him to a new provision, he receives daily speech and language therapy plus 1:1 a week individual therapy.

Wow! Do you mind me asking what your child's difficulties are? Is there an ASD or is it specific language difficulties? Thank you!
