Parent of disabled child

As a parent of a disabled child I was really upset to hear that if your child has a Child Trust Fund and they are disabled (vulnerable) they might not be able to access the money when they turn 18. Basically, some disabled kids won’t be able to access their money without going through the courts, which costs a lot! No one thinks about those children who can’t withdraw their own money, now this leaves us stuck with money in an account that we can’t get to without paying more money out.

Has anyone else heard about this: www.renaissancelegal.co.uk/child-trust-fund-access

What do you think? x

This is so unfair.
Is it the same for normal children's saving accounts?

I'm not an expert, but if it's a disabled child with a savings account that they can't access at 18, there might be some problems.
