I wonder if I can be cheeky and ask if any MNers would vote for Lorraine Thomas in Good Housekeeping's Inspirational Womean feature? It is in the latest issue, August, near the back but I tore it out and can't see the page numnber! I don't know Lorraine but one of the mums I know from our weekly horse riding sessions knows her very well and had previously told me about her so I recognised her when I saw the article.
I thought it would be good for us to support her as she is the MOTHER of a child with disabilities/special needs who has started a charity to research her son's condition, Lowe Syndrome. She has been quite successful through dogged determination, commitment and single mindedness, in other words, a Mother From Hell
To vote call 0901 3800181 or go to www.inspirationalwomen.co.uk

Of course the other two candidates are very worthy but I feel more connection to Lorraine.

Good question Fio2, I'll see if I can find out. I won't see the other mum until next Saturday but I might be able to get more info on the North London grapevine, in fact I've just thought of someone else who knows her......
London really is a collection of villages!
