My 2.8 year old loves things like threading and sorting and pouring and posting. She finds them really calming and I have just ordered her a teepee for which I have got a little chest that I want to fill with things that help calm her down.

Struggling on ideas so dont know if anyone has any suggestions?

Have a look at websites such as Absorbent Minds and SpaceKraft for ideas and then go to Amazon or Hawkins Bazaar to find the products much cheaper!

Poundshops can be good, things like nail and hairbrushes, wooden spoons, massagers, squishy balls. Ds had a favourite washing up brush for a while that went everywhere!

Elc have things like bobbin threading sets
For posting, cardboard box cut a slit in it and decorate it, and have laminated cards with pictures of her favourite things or envelopes for her to post?

My DD is a little bit older (3.3) but loves her slinky (it's a plastic one with rainbow colours) and some little spiky bouncing balls with LED lights inside.

Not for the chest, but if she likes posting she might also like the Orchard Games post box game?

DS's favourite thing ever was a giant sand timer. Rainstick would be similar (natural looking type or plastic).
