Help with ASD toddler smearing at night? At wits end.

My DS is 4, coming 5 and still in nappies albeit larger ones. He's starting pooing at night and taking the nappy off and smearing it everywhere. I mean everywhere. Walls, bed, himself, toys etc. I can't keep doing deep cleans and being on watch is killing me. Is there any SN nappies or the like that can't be taken off by the child? Please help.

Do you know if he's pooing at the same sort of time every night? Do you have a monitor so you can hear him when he wakes? It's quite unusual to poo while asleep (I've just checked I'm right on this on the ERIC website!) so he's probably waking to poo, I wonder if changing his meal times/bath time around might help.

What about a Grobag?

He pops at different times each night. I'd say there's an hour in between. I've made meal times earlier and bath time a bit later to give him more time to 'go' but it always happens at night or when he naps. 😪He completely panics in grobags, melts down because of the lack of movement.

Poor boy. Maybe have a mooch around the ERIC site yourself and see if anything looks promising.

Does he take poppered vests off too? You can get them in bigger sizes.

Thank you Polt & JS. Having a poke at your links and ERIC. Hopefully there's something that will help him. Flowers
