Ok I am having a boast but I am so proud of dd (7.5 with AS).

She is in the school Easter Play.

They had to stand and audition and she got the part.

So today is her debut and tomorrow we go and watch.

She is playing Mary Magdalene.

Dh, ds and I are going tomorrow.

Okay she only has 3 lines but there were only 10 parts and off her own back she got it!

It's weird as she goes to a drama group on a Saturday and both them and the school have commented on how dd is talented at acting. Which I find bizarre seeing as she has an asd?

Anyway boast over

I think that's wonderful, good for your dd

I don't know about ASD and acting - maybe she is good at it because to her it's real, rather then being something you pretend is real?

I don't know much about asd though (although I am fast learning atm)

That's great, BH .

coppertop · 27/03/2007 14:31

Well done to dd.

I'm not sure whether to say good luck or break a leg but I hope dd enjoys herself tomorrow. xxx

Greenshots ~ not sure really, could be. All I know is that when we got the dx I was encouraged to get dd into drama (which I have done, she also does singing).

I just hope she doesn't get too stressed out.

Not sure if you all remember she had a solo last year and she lost the plot and they had to replace her :S

How did it go, BH? Did you have tissues ready as well as the camcorder?

Dinosaur · 30/03/2007 12:55

Yes, how did it go ?

Blossomhill · 30/03/2007 14:00

Thanks Coppertop and Dino. She did very very well and we were all proud of her (dh, ds and I).

At the end she covered her eyes because of the bright lights but she was up on the stage with one other girl. The fact she knew what to say and where to stand amazed me.

Oh and she only went and one the prize for the best KS2 Easter poster The grin on her face this morning when they announced who the winner was was priceless
