there is not a school like this any nearer there is a sn school 30 mins away but its not specialised in autism
so with ten mins between them i hope they would let him go to the autistic one

They have to provide transport if the suitable school is more than 3 miles away.

Here you get transport if you are in the catchment area (ie go to nearest SN school) Some of our children are out of catchment and come to school on schools own bus but pay school for it.We have some kids out of catchment with transport provided because they already had it prior to the tightening of belts!

If the statement says the school is the only one suitable for your child's needs they will provide transport. My DD goes to a school nearly an hour away by car (7 miles in real distance but traffic being what it is....) and she gets transport. Its the only school that caters for severe physical disabilities. They did put up a small fight and wanted her to go to a nearer school but it specialises in autism/Down's and learning disabilities so wasn't suitable. Still a taxi ride though.
Just make sure you get transport put in the statemetn!
