Just had a call to offer us an OT assessment in the Easter holidays. He's been on the waiting list since September 2005

Appointment is tomorrow. He has to take shorts, trainers etc and it will take and hour to an hour and a half. Will it just be lots of observations and play ?

He has blocked ears from cold/flying last week so can't hear well and is hurting , bless him

That is good news - hopefully now your in you'll get a block of appointments and regular OT. DS has had 5 sessions now and he has really come on since Christmas.

Hope his ears are better soon - can he take some Calpol before he goes?

My ds is only 21 months so our OT puts out different toys and lets him 'choose' what he wants to do. I play (distract) him whilst she shows me how to get his posture right. We are currently trying to get him to use both hands so all the activities we do at the moment are geared towards that. The first session will probably be observing to see which skills your DS needs most support with.

Well it went ok, ds showed what he could and couldn't do pretty well but was very quiet until he played with dd at the end while we talked. His handwriting passes muster apparently but has obvious weaknesses elsewhere. Have 4 sessions booked in over next few weeks with a view to giving us a program for home
