I'm wondering if I can get some up to date advice from anyone who has recently been through this?
My daughter is 15 and is due to start a 52 week placement in a residential school for children with autism in a month or so.
As far as DLA goes I can see that after 28 days the care component stops but the mobility component continues. I think you have to fill in a boarder form and can get care component for the days the child is at home?
What about child maintenance? Tax credits etc? Obviously I know I won't get carers allowance.
It all seems quite complicated!
