social and emotional difficulties

I would like any advice on finding a supportive school for my 15yr DS.
He has been out of school for 3 years. He's School phobic, social & emotional severe. Has Dyslexia and ASD. He needs residential care.
His learning needs are moderate and could take Exams if given a nurturing environment. He hasn't got disruptive behaviour. But wants to be in total control of everything. He has no friends of his own age and thinks all he needs are those he's never met on line!.
Very concerned as he can so easily be influenced, already being brain washed on line. We will move anywhere now to find help.
Cams in East Sussex haven't been very helpful. We have just got his EHCP plan and now hopefully can find a suitable placement.
Any help please Mums. I'm desperate for ideas.

My DD2 has ASD and is at a lovely residential school in Derbyshire. However we have just heard that there are no spaces left now.

I only know of schools in the Midlands.

Swalcliffe Park, Potterspury Lodge and North Hill House all made good impressions on me.

I would look at other Cambian Group schools too.

Its hard to find the right fit for my DS as he is high functioning ASD but very anxious about attending a school that looks and feels like one!. We've looked at a few schools in Sussex & Surrey but haven't found the right one yet. I was wondering if anyone has experience with the Priory schools. We have yet to look around any Cambrian Group school.

I think North Hill House may be a Priory School. It has a sister school in Godalming that I've heard good things about but I can't remember the name.

My DD is highly anxious and highly academically able with a lot of school-based trauma. It was very, very hard to find an appropriate school for her.

Don't consider Alderwasley Hall School if your son needs significant MH input.

I loved one of the Cambian Group Schools we looked at but they couldn't meet DD2's needs. The head teacher was very open and honest about that. He wasn't going to take on a pupil who he didn't feel would cope in that environment.

I am writing to ask if anybody in the Pembrokeshire area has any advice for me. My girl is 10 soon to be 11 she is ment to start secondary school in September, she has already been diagnosed at 4 or five years old with global delay in all areas. She has a very immature nature and can not maintain friendships with kids the same age as she doesn't understand how or why other people can be nasty. So she is always upset and teased. The school she is ment to start is huge it is the one school in her catchment area. Iv got to say they are building a super school on the same grounds that will be modern and easier to ind your way around. But it won't be ready for over a year. My daughter has problames coping in junior school let alone a huge school. She suffers with pain in her joints a lot and it hurts her a lot. She seems to have JIA and we have seen one consultant a month ago who said she has very tight ham strings and gave us exercises to do and will review in four months. In the mean time her weight is so under that it scares me she is 21 kilos. She can not walk up or down stairs properly and worse when she is in pain she also can not deal with crowds or to much noise she is going to be home schooled I think as iv just had every possible excuse as to why she can not be helped unfortunately. So I thinking of taking her private to asses her for dyspraxia and JIA does anybody know of any suggestions my last hope

I don't have any experience with Pembrokeshire schools. I really sympathise with you though. Its so hard for us to find help for our children. I'm still waiting to hear if our panel in east Sussex will accept that both our DS's will need a special school. Good luck and I hope another Mum can give you some advice. Thank you for your kind words and thoughts. Iv managed to run into every possible obstacle there is to have. I'm so tired of being pushed and put on the bottom end of everything it's a disgrace here in pembroke for children. All services have been slashed not cut. I have found it has left the most vulnerable children in the worst possible case scenario and whilst they have cut our services they are building £42.4 million super school, they are building it as we speak on the old schools grand when my other daughter still attend it is like a building site and I don't think it safe, they have no money for our children who need help but found the 42.4 million to build a super school. Great and il home school in my not so super situation. Sorry to have ranted but it has got to the point it's all I ever talk about. Hi I'm back. Just been to visit eldest DS in Pembrokeshire. Lovely & sunny!!. Both my DS's are going through the EHCP process at the same time the 15 year old will not want to go to anywhere that appears anything like a school. So I'm looking at Priory education anywhere in UK. My youngest is 8 and has delays of two years,ASD, dyspraxia he is very immature for his age and really finds it hard making and keeping friends of his age. He doesn't want to socialize with those his age for fear of rejection. Like your DD feels its hard for them at school.
I found the organization called Amaze very helpful they helped me with both Ehcp's. Has your DD got one?. Don't worry about having a rant, we all need to. Its all I think about day & night. I'm sure your DD will get a appreciate school place if she has the EHCP, the educational authority has to place her in a suitable school and pay for transport. If you are out of an area with suitable placement they will have to provide residential schooling. Failing that they would have to provide tuition.

Yes Pembrokeshire has been very nice iv even made a start in the garden lol. I'm the same with thinking it all over n over but it strikes me so much when I hear the same story over and over again about how kids just wanna be accepted and have kids just wanna friend and her kids just one of the kids. I don't think I know any teachers that really teach because I want to I just use a primary school as a step up to further their career none of the teachers I know really care. Just makes me think sometimes what happened to parent making sure that the children except others and everyone has the right life.

Hello, how it is possible he is out of place or school?Council suppose to advice how to educate child,and get you links for application form.You can call them or it is possible home or private education in UK if he not able or do not wont at school-again some local education department should give you contact for tutors who does from home or private.
