If your dc has been on melatonin for a while, did you take a break?

Just a quick question, if your DC has been on melatonin for a while, did your paed suggest a break and did you do it?

Saw ds paed today and she said he should have a break from the melatonin for a few months as the guidelines suggest. He's been on it for 2.5 years and we've never had any problems. Life was an absolute sleepless hell hole before the melatonin so I'm reluctant to go back, but will try it if it is best for ds. Am interested to know what others do?

Been on a year no break either and I often worry about this...

I'm not sure. DD has been taking it for about 2 years with no break. It works really well for her so, like you, I'd be nervous of a break being suggested, but now wonder if one is looming on the horizon.
Could you time it so it would have least impact, e.g. over the summer holidays?
