Oh coppertop that's the wrong article- it's ridiculous that one- the journalist didn;t even bother to attend the conference she's slagging off. The boy who died during chelation dies because he was give the wrong drug btw- it was a medical accident rather than due to chelation itself.

The Thomas Sutterford article about Wakefield is much better. points out that he never said not to vaccinate and his advice for those without risk factors was the MMR (so would suggest that the scare was due to govt stirring rather than anything else). NOt a bad article for the Times.

Rather hate the way that it now seems to be accepted that the MMR /autism link has been "disproved" when it has been anything of the sort. Quite the contrary, there's gorwing evidence that a small subgroup of the autism population have their autsim triggered by the MMR.
