I was making breakfast for the dds and dd2 was sitting in her seat waiting for her food ( as usual) when we had a fab conversation - she told me everything I was doing - making dd1's lunch for kindy, toast popped, that she liked butter, vegemite, toast and choc milk. That I was making up dd1's juice bottle etc....

At 2 I am having such conversations with her - it really makes me sad that I don't have those sort of conversations with dd1 - we do have conversations but with so much prompting etc from me......

Just really hit me this morning.... am sure I was aware of it but wow - okay - enough wallowing!!

Aw eidsvold... not many people up at the moment (at least not in this hemisphere!) but I didn't want your post to go unanswered. I wish I could say something meaningful and helpful... but it's 2.30 a.m. here and I'm still up (last minute preparations for work tomorrow) so my brain is not at its best! I'm sure someone who is more awake than me will write something better soon. But for now I am thinking of you and sending you a virtual hug. Hope you can keep smiling....

{{{{}}}} That's really hard and it must bite very deep. The conversations you do have with DD1 must mean so much - you have to take what you can when you can get it - but these moments of realisation really kick you in the teeth, don't they? I don't know the answer, but the fact that DD1 can communicate with you, although with a lot of prompting is good. I sincerely wish it wasn't so hard.

What a lovely way to start the day, with such a great conversation

It's funny how you don't notice things like this for ages and it suddenly dawns on you...
