I've had my baby!

Hi! I don't know whether any of you remember me, but I post on here sometimes about my son who has Spina Bifida. Well, I had my baby,Jonathan Charles, on 30th December (4 weeks early!), and thankfully, he seems to be alright. He has a bit of a crease on his spine, but the doctors who've seen him, seem to think that a lot of babys have the same crease. But we're going back to double check in a couple of weeks time. To be honest, I feel completely disloyal to my eldest, but I feel so relieved that this one appears to be fine. And I'm SOOO happy (Knackered, mind - feeding every 2 hours! During the day, fine, at night, NO fun!). Just thought you might all like to know!

congratulations

don't feel disloyal M2S, it's only natural to want an easier healthier life for your new baby.

For what it's worth i know that panic... my uncle has severe spina bifida (paralysed from the chest down and severly mentally handicapped) and with both my pregs i've been a nervous wreck... ds has a deep dimple but they say it's all good and the spine is sealed and just to double up on folic acid if i have another so i'm sure the same will be true for Jonathan

Congratulations, mum2seb - enjoy him, and you're not being disloyal to your eldest.

How nice, well done - and lovely names. I noticed my second baby recognised the sound of her older sibling's voice when she was new-born - it was lovely for them both to have each other, as well as for us. Wishing you all well.
