Fab . I hope they have a great time xxx

We are going tomorrow {gulp}. First time I have taken mine out of the country.

blossomhill · 21/01/2007 21:51

Oh and most importantly make sure you enjoy the break!

onlyjoking9329 · 21/01/2007 21:57

you will have a great time, make sure you go on the it's a small world ride, nice and gentle and you will find yourself singing the song forever! careful of the rainforest cafe, lots of sudden very loud noises in there.

thanks, obviously dd doesn't like sudden noises so will avoid that one lol

we went to macdonalds for breakfast but it was all different food, all croissants and stuff didn't go down well i can tell you!

They have a macdonalds?
Also are they good with sn? My gp wouldn't put down that dd has asd as wasn't on her notes. So I know have a print out saying she has sn and that's it.
I walked out in tears I can tell you. Just worried I won't get the passes

MamazonAKAfatty · 21/01/2007 22:12

Wow. What a great school trip. DS is going to Hever castle but it just doesn't compare does it lol

I am in the process of applying to family fund for a holiday. i have my fingers crossed that it is enough for a trip to disney (i know it wont cover the full cost but every little helps)
So you will have to tell us all about it BH.
Can you get discounts for Sn then? Im sure a Dr's note explaining Sn, whethere there is a Dx or not should be ok.

onlyjoking9329 · 21/01/2007 22:13

we got a pass for the kids, i think i just took their blue badges but can't remember if i had to show them to get the pass, the worst problem we had is that because the kids look just like any other kids (most of the time)allowences were not made so when theres a character they wanted to go and see other kids just pushed them out of the way. when they go with school it will be different as one child uses a wheelchair and the characters always give children with more obvious disabilities lots of time and attention. when you go to the parades there is always a separate bit for kids with SN so they get a good view, but we did get a few dirty looks for being there, till DS started licking peoples shoes

no discount for SN, family fund told us last year to apply three times once for each child, so we did and we just got 400 for a holiday, dunno why we had to apply three times.

I am taking gp print off, Camhs summary which states she has asd, my icount card and dla.
I shall kick up such a fuss if they don't give us a pass.

I will let you all know how I get on {nervous emotion} I am just so scared we will run out of things to do.

blossomhill · 21/01/2007 22:17

I have never applied for family fund. I think the fact they go through all your bank statements put me off. Although the money would help as dh doesn't get paid for this week and I don't work.
Sometimes you just have to think S*d it and go.

onlyjoking9329 · 21/01/2007 22:19

we went for three days and it was non stop but we didn't run out of things to do, the night time parades are supposed to be good but we were all too tired by then plus it would have been hard work keeping an eye on our three in the dark.

holidays are brill thou, my three love holidays we are off for two weeks in a villa in lanzarote in feb, can't wait. of course we have booked the same villa we went to in august, it took Abbey ten days to leave the pool steps so i am hoping she will be better this time!

what pass is it you need to get BH?

onlyjoking9329 · 21/01/2007 22:32

when you go to disney you can get a pass which means you don't have to queue, we only used the pass once when DS wanted to go on a ride that the girls didn't want to go on as i didn't feel it was fair for the girls to have to wait, the rest of the time we queued, but my lot are ok with queueing if they know what they are waiting for.

It sounds like it will be a good trip for them.

You've probably gone by now, BH but I hope you have a good holiday.
