Any tips for flying to visit family in Australia with 5yo with SN?

Has anyone flown to Sydney with a child with SN for a holiday? I'm trying to help my friend who is hoping to take her son later in the year, and doesn't know where to start to find information.
Any tips for the flight or about taking medical supplies, would be really helpful.

we moved with our dd1 who has down syndrome from the UK to Aus. Medications - just check as they may need evidence of a prescription or docs letter to say that they are essential.

Let airlines know when booking flights they require special assistance - be helpful.

Singapore airlines are the best we have used with children.

Big thing to remember - no matter how bad it gets - they will never see the people on the plane again and what they say and do won't matter ie the tutters and moaners.

hope that is a start.
