How do you talk to your child about their dyslexia

Just received DD's ed psych report and haven't decided how to talk to her about her diagnosis yet. Could anyone share experiences of this please? She's only 6, if this makes any difference.

Some people find certain things harder than others.

Some are better at maths.
Some are better at football.
Some are better at cooking.
Some are better at computer games.
Etc.

In your daughter's case some are better at learning to read and write. It doesn't matter, because it just means she will have to work a bit harder than others. There will be things she is better at than others, and they have to work harder at that.

It is actually good news, because now she knows what she is good at and what she might need to work a bit more at, so does her school and you. So everyone can help :)
