Faddy food advice and laminator alert

DD will only eat mash and beans for her dinner.

We have tried everything, she is more "autistic" than DS in that whereas he will eat quite a few things (but only on certain days) she will just eat the one thing.

So the psych has suggested making her a book with pictures of different food and to keep showing it to her.

So, i have ordered a laminator from argos as i have a gift card but i was wondering where the best place to buy laminator pouches, velcro and velcro strips particularly the velcro as ive never seen it anywhere before!!!

Thanks

I found velcro strips (well a own brand equivalent) in my local village post office - cost of a pack was under £2. I would expect most high-street stationers will have (or be able to get) laminator pouches. Think I got my last lot of pouches from Stationery Box. Not sure how much they were.

If you want to get both things online, try vikingathome.co.uk won't be cheapest but Viking I've found are reliable.

I get my velcro from the local market. MrsF is the queen of laminator pouches (and probably still can't type the word "pouch" without giggling!) and usually knows where the latest deals are but if a thread with the word laminator in the title can't tempt her out of hiding then nothing can. My last lot came from Tescos ages ago when they were on offer so probably not a lot of help there.

Hi Coppertop! (yes...you've tempted me out the box)

i stock up on packs from Lidl when they have them- very cheap- then tesco if needed in between.

(by the way...am i the only one who 'double laminates' stuff to make them as 'chew proof' as possible??? (laminate once...then put it inside another pouch...and laminate again-works really well if your doing individual 'velcro' backed cards...as what i do is laminate a sheet of pictures...cut them out....place them on another pouch...then put that betwwn 2 sheets of thin card (stops the indvidual pictures moving) then pass the whole wodge through the laminator.... this is particularily satisfying for those of us who are smoetimes feeling worried that we cannot laminate anything else...as you can just redo everything!!!!
