Talk about mortifying!!! what would you do?

So we had a meeting with cahms today, son keeps threatening to kill himself ect ect, anyway out of nowhere my son comes out with my mum always hits me!!!!! i nearly died of shock and though what the heck?????

So of course im thinking what the hell is he on about? so i said to him ok, if mummy hits you can you tell me when this has happened?? and he said well when i was kicking off you pushed me away!!!!!! i thought for goodness sakes!!!!! he was punching me and kicking me and pulling my hair!!!! i suppose i will end up with socail services on my doorstep or something!!!!

I really had to say to them as i was going out the door im not achild beater honestly!!!! even though ive done nothing i feel mortified!!!

ds used to throw himself out of the front door and announce to the whole echoey stairwell that I had pushed him.

I wouldn't worry - they will be used to this. ds1 and ds2 certainly do it anyway. Not just to us but school also which is terribly mortifying but luckily not for a while because (touch wood) it is a long time since they have had to use restraint. We were actually advised the other week to keep a diary of incidents where you have had to physically restrain just in case it is thrown back in your face at some later date as apparently it is not uncommon for accusations to be made later. The problem is in their mind you are the aggressor no matter what they have done earlier. It is a tricky one we just reiterate that what we have done is keep them safe.

There are some good techniques to get out of situations where your child is hurting you with minimal hurt to them e.g. pulling hair put your hand on top of theirs and press down which causes them to release their grip (it works!). Might be worth attending a course e.g. NAS or autism west midlands if you can find one.
