We have been looking at cars today, we need a family size not necessarily a large family but we want a diesel.

What cars do you have/would recommend.

TIA

well i have a renault master van.
but would reccomend a vauxhall zafira if you are looking for a family car.

I have a Citroen Xsara Picasso - the diesel is really economical.

mummy2aaron · 01/01/2007 14:50

OOpps not mobility though.

misdee · 01/01/2007 14:52

we have a nissan tino, but no longer made. is very roomy, we can fit in a buggy, spare VAD and trolly in the boot, plus shopping.

we have also had a pull sized adult wheelchair in the boot when we went on holiday.

misdee · 01/01/2007 14:55

current prices as some have advance payments

TEEstheCEEsontobejolly · 01/01/2007 19:14

Toyota Rav4.

Brakes went spongy day before yesterday so mobility are sorting it out and they have loaned us a Vauxhall Safira. Big and roomy but we both hate it and it's palsticness and stupiud handbrake! We can't wait to get the Rav back.

PS - the Rav is diesel. It is a 4x4 but the samllest type and is so far away from the chelsea tractors I see driven around. It's so easy to drive, small inside, high up so good for putting kids in without doing your back too much damage etc.

we've got a zafira. seems to get knocked a bit on mn!! but i love it. we've got the 1.6 and its really economical. its a lovely runabout and - the best bit - the kids get a row each so they are easily separated when they go off on one!!

jenk1 · 01/01/2007 20:55

i cant get that mobility link to work, has anyone else tried it?

TEEstheCEEsontobejolly · 01/01/2007 21:18

misdee · 01/01/2007 21:19

TEEstheCEEsontobejolly · 01/01/2007 21:30

oh my dh loves it - he says it almost looks like a throttle on an aircraft!

what he doest like are the sides of the windscreen - youve got the windscreen then a bar then a little triangular window then another divider - you have a real blind spot.

oh, he says if someone was to go for the zafira, he would advise going for the 2 rather than the 1.6 if they can afford the fuel and extra deposit! cos its a bit tough to get up steep hills, especially if youre fully loaded!

jenk1 · 02/01/2007 14:12

DH is thinking along the lines of a mondeo/vectra, has anyone had any of these?

OP posts:
jenk1 · 04/01/2007 15:40

We have been to a few garages and DH has decided on a zafira, he would like a 2.0 but we cant afford the extra deposit so he,s setteled on a 1.6 in metro blue colour.

The extra seating row did it for me, its very useful in seperateing my 2 when they start going on one which is very frequent!!!!!

Got to wait till april now and i cant wait!!!

I need one that I can ramp the wheelchair into the back but it also has space for me, DH and 2 other kids. Someone told me that Kangoo do a 4 seater with wheelchair space and no deposit.
Any thoughts.
