those of you that have seen me about outside the SN boards will know that my childrens dad is a complete nob head and i am currently midway through a court case to sort access ( i want no contact from hoim at all, he wants staying contact every week)
well as part of the court case the judge had ordered for an expert witness to be called to look at DS. because of his ASD they wanted to know if he was affected by what he had seen (the domestic violance)how it had affected him, whether it was damaging for contact to tale place, if there was any other helpfull insights he could find and basicly a full independant report on Ds's development and understanding.

the guy they chose was Dr Blincow from the Priory in Hove (has anyone been there? it seems pretty fab) which is about 40 minutes from me if the traffic is ok.
well our original appointment was for last thuirsday at 10am. on monday of last week we had a letter sayig he had to rearrange and the new appointment would be for 6pm today!
there was no option about appointment dates or times, it was then or never.
I not only had to take DS(6) but also my 2 yo DD.
Becasue teh traffic is so bad during rush hour on the road towards Brighton we ended up having to leave at 4:50pm. so they children hadn't had any proper tea.
when we arrived Dr Blincow was lovely but he was asking the same questions i am asked at every single visit to every single professional...the answers are the same every time so why dont they just read the bloody reports. ds was being his normal hyper, boisterous loud self that he is whenever he goes to a new place and meets new people, so we couldn't really talk properly as Ds was demanding so much attention.
he barely spoke to Ds at all and was just asking the development questions.
i really do not understand how he can make any "expert opinions" from this one visit.
we were there for just under an hour.
Now what i find annoying is that A) why did i have to go all that way to answer questions he could have found answers to just by reading DS's file? B) what sort of child expert expects you to bring a 6 and 2 year old out at 6pm?
and C) how dare he make me miss Noddy's party
anyway, just thought i'd have a little whinge
