Anyone know how to get a car seat to fit a child 42 pounds and up to age 7 with a five point harness??

I have checked everywhere. You can order from the U.s. but they cost the earth.

thanks

Mama, I have had this problem for my 6 year old DD, who constantly removes the shoulder strap on her car seat. Mothercare do one for about 400 pounds, thats the only one I've seen. I ended up getting one for £80, a chicco one which clips the car seat belt over her shoulder, but its not ideal. Someone mentioned applying to kings fund for funding for the expensive ones, but last time I looked into this they had an income limit which I just exceeded. I'm not sure if they still means test or not.

Do Britax still make the Elite? It's the one which is exactly the same shell as their special needs seat. It has a five point harness.

www.britax.co.uk/SpecialRequirements.jsp
might be worth a look, appears they do a 5 point seat for up to 36kg.

My son uses a Britax Elite in the school taxi and he is 6.5. Don't know if you can still get them though.
