Free carer's cinema ticket when accompanying someone with additional needs.

Just found this...in case anyone is interested...

'This is a national card that can be used to verify that the holder is entitled to one free ticket for a person accompanying them to the cinema.
To apply for the card, you will need to meet one or more of the following criteria:
a) Be in receipt of the disability living allowance or attendance allowance.
b) Be a registered blind person.
The card is valid for 3 years from the date of issue.

Hi there. Does anybody know of any other "benefits" of having a child claiming DLA? I know of Legoland and the Tussauds theme parks (free or reduced entrance for carers and help with queues etc) but just found out about cinema and wondered if anybody knew any others?

you can go in free as a carer at whipsnade zoo or take the car into the park for free.

It's worth trying to find out what there is locally. We have a card to get free swimming for ds and 4 other family members or friends. The same card also gets us all into the Odeon SN cinema club for £2 each.

I get in Free when taking a child with ASD swimming at Coral Reef in Bracknell. Admission rate is also reduced. Needed to show DX letter.

At Legoland, I can get Exit Pass for child with ASD. Other children and adults in party can also get passes but there is a limit, can't recall how many, think it was up to 3 people accompanying.

Legoland does: "Free admission for registered personal assistants with documented proof of disability." See FAQ
Best to contact Guest Services to establish if you qualify for this. When I took child with ASD I didn't need to get tickets, as I had an annual pass and had a Free Child ticket.

Good to know about Cinema reduction card... alas the child I care for won't sit still in a cinema, tried that a month or so ago... disaster!
