DD is 4, school due sept 07 - she has Noonans Syndrome (yes you all know what that is right)
Basically she is doing great age app for most things bar some gross motor issues - no jumping running, little bit unsteady at times. She also has some hypotonia which is affecting her ability to draw/write although she is coming on pretty well. main issue is her sight and lack of physical stature - she is very petite and this means that despite being toilet trained, she cannot get herself on to a toilet.
so forseeing some issues with this at school - and the sight is under peripatetic assistance so we're sorted there.
Right well we always thought that dd would need statementing for school. So with that in mind EP is doing home visit here in a couple of weeks.
What will they need to know on first visit - is it a hands off getting to know you or the full detailed history, ins and outs of a ducks bum sort of thing?
TIA

to be honest, and i admit i am lucky here where boys ed psych is concerned, i have 2 boys, both sn, one 3 and one just turned 5, same ed psych for both, 1st visit with both she assessed them 1st in nursery then came to the house afterwards, and spent another hr at the house, he/she will prob just ask about your dd when she was little etc, i wouldnt worry too much, as regards the toilet at school, dont forgot their toilets are designed for little peeps, so it may well be great for her, my 5 yr old has just started school in sept, had statement in place ready for school starting, but he is still in nappies, i thought that would be a problem, but it isnt, they got a special changing bed in for him in the disabled toilets, he support worker has even put posters up for him bless her, i may just be really lucky, but if she already has a statement, from my experience, which isnt vast yet, but they are pretty amenable.
