Genetics query - DS1 has ASD also syndactyly on both feet, tongue tie?

Is this a common theme?

I'm wondering about a genetic link?

Aspergers, dyspraxia, some hypermobility and low muscle tone

He had tongue tie, syndactyly on both feet between 2 toes. He has always had (since birth) a hairy back and seriously strong fast growing nails? Even as a newbie.

DS2 has very mild (not noticeable to me!) syndactyly, that I saw written in his newbie notes. But doesn't have ASD or co-ordination issues.

I don't think it's worth a referral to a geneticist as I'm getting all the support in place that I can. But I did wonder if it could form part of a syndrome or genetics?

might still be worth. having genetic dx didn't bring extra help for us be we know who is a carrier of this gene in our family, the likelyhood that my DC will pass it on to her child. the chance of us having another child with the same condition etc. really glad I found out.

Thanks for posting this.

I have no experience of the symptoms your ds has (hairy etc) but my ds with asd, hyper mobile experience etc, has other things I wonder if there's significance too. For example he has darker patches of skin that go darker in sun so never fade into a tan iyswim but he's either developing more or there are more obvious ones now he's tanned. I also think ds head looks large Blush and he has cross over to see on one foot.

Does make you wonder!

I'd love to chat to you more about the possibility of genetics and how to approach it with peads etc.

Thanks for your posts!

I've just read in another thread that once you have a diagnosis, nothing is offered in way of further support.

I'm not having joy with an referral re auditory processing, so very much doubt I would get one re this!
