Her normal key worker was off sick today and another nursery worker came in on the meeting.
Well, what a different picture she painted.
Last meeting when i was mentioning DD,s routine problems.noise sensitivity,lack of imaginative play,lack of social skills etc her key worker was not totally disagreeing but not painting what me and DH thought was a true picture of her difficulties.
This other worker took us and the SENCO and the specialist HV, the PP lady and the other HV through a typical day with DD in nursery.
She gave examples of her difficulties and backed up everything that i was saying, the Specialist HV was getting a little flustered as last time she told me to "get things into perspective" and didnt really understand what we were saying.
Today, she has mentioned that she will ask for a statutory asessment after the report comes back from the CDC and that she is concerned about a few issues raised today, i really felt like someone was listening to us today, the SENCO also backed up what we have been saying and said she has been keeping an eye on DD for a few weeks.
The SALT is going in to nursery in a couple of weeks and they have asked me for permission to ask the Ed PSych to come in and also the ICAN speech people.
It sounds weird all this, its not that im happy that she has SN, its that im happy that im being listened to and that people are backing me and DH up when i have never ever had this with DS.
I am so relieved in a way because with DD everyone is working together and hopefully we will have a statement in place before she starts primary school.
