Melatonin night 3 - what have we done wrong?

First 2 nights ds had melatonin and it seemed to work well, last night he was asleep by 9.30 which is the earliest in a long time.
Tonight, he had it at 6.30 so we could aim for an earlier bedtime, had him in bed by 8.30, he's still wide awake, not feeling sleepy at all, has been angry all evening and is now cross as he can't sleep.
Have I done it wrong? He's on 2 mg.

Omg. Melatonin not working tonight!!!!! I dint know why, but ds is crashing about and shouting, not sleepy at all.
I hope this isn't the end of the success.
Can it work for two weeks then stop???

DD has her Melatonin 30 mins exactly before bed and in that 30 mins she prepares for bed, pyjamas, teeth, story. We have had a few blips and found we had problems when we didn't stock to the timing and the routine.

Hmm sort of worked
last night. He was calm but didn't sleep for quite a while.

We found it takes at least 3 months to get into good routine and for it to work!
DS on 7mg of melatonin and 5mg of Chloral Hydrate .... Our days still start at 2:30amAngry

It seems to be working again. I think we just got a bit too trusting of it, and let his routine slip. When we went back to the strict routine, and the melatonin, he began to sleep well again.

Yes we have stuck to a strict routine too kojack, we have just been on holiday but stuck to giving Dd3 her melatonin at 9 with the intention of her being asleep by 10 and it worked pretty well. Smile
