DD has just been referred for assessment for ASD (suspected Aspergers) - waiting time of 9months or up to a year so nothing will happen soon. Paediatrician said formal diagnosis will help really for future as at the moment she doesn't need any support at school. Are they likely to just confirm the diagnosis and leave it at that? I hear the term statements and IEP's for school but have no clue what they mean, could someone talk through the process they've been through please? Thanks in advance.
