EEG test on 4 year old boy sign autism?

My son is 4 and hasn't been diagnosed yet..

Has been referred for an EEG test, due to regular 'staring' episodes at pre - school.

I'm worried sick. He hates hospitals and I'm worried he will freak out when they try and do the procedure..

I know little about it and how it's done!

Any advice?

My ds is 10yo and has ASC. He had an EEG due to his staring episodes and body jerks. It was clear and showed non signs of epilepsy. It's been contributed to his autism.

If you think he'll struggle with EEG phone hospital who are doing it for advice. They DSM usually offer revisits etc.
