Breath holding - on every breath?????

Is this normal. Dd2 (ASD) when sitting or lying down holds her breath. Every breath she breaths in then holds it for about 5 seconds then gasps out then in again then holds it again. She has no idea she is doing it. She has SPD but just wondering if this happened to any others. It's been going on for about a year. Any thoughts? :-)

Oh my goodness, my 5yo dd2 who is I think has HFA used to do this all the time, every day for about 6 months. She didn't realise she was doing it. I know exactly what you mean. Sorry no advice, but you're not alone.

Glad I'm not the only one, she doesn't seem to mind but it sounds like she is constantly struggling :-s sure all fine I've just never heard a child do this! Guess your dd stopped, I will hope for the same ?? thank you :-)
