Lovely secondary school for girl w high functioning autism

Hello
I'm back again! Looking for advice and recommendations on schools for my lovely girl.

Who has good experiences of any school anywhere with a girl with high functioning autism? Will consider state, private, religious, boarding, the works. Anything. Even an alternative school where they do painting all day! Anything. Just want her to be happy and have a lovely time and not be scared.

Has anyone got any ideas??

It depends a lot on your individual dd, but Egerton has gone down well with a friend, Frewen has a good reputation and I heard of a sporty ASD kid doing well at Millfield. New School at West Heath may be for kids less able than your dd.

Someone said Centre Academy to me the other day.

Probably only a realistic option if you are in the south east - although they do have residential provision www.limpsfieldgrange.co.uk/. Your DD would need to have a statement though. I think it meets your criteria of 'lovely'!

I visited the school last year and and liked it - I will visit again soon with DD who now in Y5.

My 10 yo DD has SPD and very likely ASD. She has been masking and passing all her school life and is good as gold at school, but now finds the social pressure of school life challenging to say the least. I don't know how to best help her and would love to find the best school for her too. We are in West London, she is top of Middle set academically.
