DD (6) just loves headsprout even though she is non verbal but is mainly physically disabled.

Currently on episode 65 so getting near the end and it's clear she is able to work out words and can probably read simple stories. School are unable to assess reading as they don't have the expertise.

Any ideas on what we can do next? We will do the comprehension section even though it looks a bit advanced, but any ideas of other apps of a similar nature we can try? Also any book apps suitable for a new reader? Conventional books are out as she can't turn pages unassisted.

Www.oxfordowl.co.uk has 200 free e-books. To turn the page you just need to click the mouse or tap the screen on the tablet.
You need to register but there a free of charge. I alternate them with Headsprout. Have a look.

Fabulous. Thank you. Headsprout has been great and we've just discovered she can read phonetically (or figure it out!) so have taped that for the school to demonstrate this. Had no problem with the American pronunciation and managed better (bedder)! Grin
