no sign of my cheque from the LA

deadline for me to be paid is by Monday at 12 noon - given that it would have probably been posted yesterday to get to me on Monday had kind off hoped that I would have got it today but guess still a chance on Monday.

if no cheque here on Monday - I guess that come Monday afternoon I need to get a complaint in given its come from a tribunal judge order. dh is convinced the LA have probably yesterday lodged an appeal against it so that will be why there will be a delay but Im not so sure.

I think the LA are just incompetent and wont know what to do with it to process payment or are trying to force it into next year.

was going to wait a few days before I complained but then thought no sod it - easter next week so by mid week they will all be going off on leave and it is a judge that has ordered it to be paid so they must comply really - not like ive ordered it.

er, it is after 12.00.

Do you think they have forgotten where you live?

I think the neurotic attitude LAs take to emails is ridiculous. If they won't send emails they insist on things like faxes and post, but it's just as easy to put in the wrong fax number as it is to input the wrong email address, and there's plenty of evidence of post going astray. Even if they hand deliver, no-one's infallible.

well heard back from head of service almost immediately with an apology and an assurance it is being dealt with 'with utmost urgency'

may get that doorstep visit yet........

wonder if anyone had informed him what had happened - I had emailed his predecessor asking for them to intervene so we could avoid the last tribunal - they ignored me of course which may also have played a part in the costs order as showed we did everything we could to avoid the last tribunal.

I know from others this guy does tend to get things moving so lets wait and see..... god knows why it never had the 'utmost urgency' in the first place cos it was never like I was not going to do something if the payment never came

My LA has the habit of putting my son's Statements (proposed, Final, new ones after AR) in flimsy A4 envelopes which are too small for his bulky statement. The envelope has the habit of falling apart in my postman's hands. The postman always has to knock on the door to give me the envelope and statement in ripped pieces with my son's reports easily readable by the postie.

One day I'll report them to the ICO for doing this as it is a clear breach of the data protection act. I was even advised by a data protection hot-shot lawyer that all statements (if they include medical/personal info) should be sent by recorded delivery. No LA (that I know of does) this.

they are hand delivering it today :-) I got a grovelling email from the person I suspect who has behind making sure we have been dragged to tribunal each time - thank goodness DH is home and he can deal with them although they could just post it in the postbox hopefully

well - that's good news. Well done! Although if they hadn't been so incompetent in the first place, then they wouldn't have had the need to hand deliver it!

they have delivered it - they've managed to get down my drive without us spotting them which is no bad thing - so now dh is about to head into town and get it paid in. its just going back into the pot for the next one

I hope it doesn't bounce! Put that in the next appeal - they couldn't get pay it on time

already photocopied of course senvet!! looks like I will be getting a written response as well as to why it was delayed. they did well to get it in the post box without me spotting them

ROFL at this thread. Only because I just don't know how you manage your frustration bjk at your tax being spent on these people.
