Hi,

Does anyone know if there is a link with people diagnosed with ehlers danlos hypermobility and fussy eating?

Tia

This is an interesting post. My EDS diagnosed son is a fussy eater, as is one of his 2 brothers and I was very fussy as a child. All three of us are "bendy" although only ds3 is diagnosed. Ds1 has much broader eating habits, and isn't bendy, but is restricted somewhat by having a life-threatening food allergy. Great fun at mealtimes at our house!

Ds2 is definitely hypersensitive to smells and textures. His eating is a little better than it was (he's now 18) but still fairly limited. I wouldn't say ds3 has sensory processing problems though and he is limited too in what he will consider eating.

The trouble is, restricted eating patterns are quite common in the child/adolescent population generally, I believe, so it's hard to know if EDS is a factor or not.
