When Dd3 was being assessed we had a meeting at school with the paediatrician that the senco/HT was supposed to attend but she didnt and CAMHS phoned the school to speak to her class teacher.

So yes I would say it is quite normal. Are the school supportive?

No not at all so i'm dreading it!They suggested it after speaking to school . I have not always agreed with their approach which has made things very tricky.

Yes we had similar issues with the first HT/senco and the paediatrician. the HT managed to convince the paed that I was a psycho munchausens mother!!

The first meeting did not help Dd3 at all and the paed subsequently tried to discharge her. However I wrote a very strong letter and she didnt. she then left the area and Dd3 ended up being referred to CAMHS. We were lucky and ours were good and understood what we were saying to them about Dd3 masking her issues at school.

Long story short, keep plodding on, keep diaries and notes about your concerns. Read as much as you can and arm yourself with knowledge. Dont expect CAMHS to be a quick fix, it took us a year to get through the tier system and within 6 weeks of getting to see a psychiatrist at teir 3, Dd3 had a diagnosis!

Good luck Flowers

Oh and meant to say, we had to move Dd3 to a school where they could [at times] meet her needs.

Thank you. You could be me ;-) I get the impression school think much the same about me! Its awful im terrified which is a bit pathetic really but its been a few years from hell . They are really struggling with her ATM but are a bit harsh with the sanctions and pile them on so I have objected in the past and been accused of not being supportive . CAHMS sounded very different today than previous chats maybe i'm paranoid (hoping) .

We all have those moments I think, I have said exactly the same today over my information request.

It is awful to feel paranoid, dont let the b......s grind you down and keep coming on here for advice and support it really is the best Smile

Its so frustrating as when there are issues you obviously want the best for your DCs but then your made to feel almost neurotic .
