I'm just after some advice from anyone who's been throught this.
DD has just been diagnosed with ASD - no surprise to us - but still it has taken a bit of a toll and I think we are reeling a bit.
So, now it seems we have a battle to fight. DD has significant needs which we don't think school are able (or especially willing to meet).
This means we have to get a Statement/EHCP, yes?
Can anyone talk me baby steps through what this means/what we are likely to have to do/whether we need to get support (eg IPSEA has been recommended to us)?
I really need just short, easy to understand steps really because I don't think my head can take too much at the moment. DH is trying, but struggling as much as me with the 'well, what now?' kind of thing.
Hand-holding definitely needed right now, alongside some
too I think.
