My son is 4.5 - in the process of assesment for autism. He has sensory issues as well .

My question is he can't seem to handle anticipation waiting for something if it's something in time he will hit himself , stim ect or of it's a game or waiting something physically to happen - popping pirate ect he covers his ears twitches and flinches - not upset or waiting for something - visiting a toy shop or friends ect he can get extremely emotional!

Is this part of his autism or sensory?

Thank you for reading ! Slightly worn out at the minuete and seeking some answers feel like I've been in the dark waiting for years and years for some answers !

It certainly seems to be part of my DS's autism. He is on a programme at the moment (as part of his ABA programme) to increase his ability to tolerate waiting, using countdown timers and gradually increasing the time he has to wait for things. It is is going well...
