Dd1 had her first birthday party for some twins that are in her mainstream kindy class. I was worried how she would go - it was at 12 which is her lunch and nap time. She did really really well. It was at a very busy, very tiny McDOnalds. she played pass the parcel for about 7 goes ( there were many so every child could get a prize). She played really well in the playground.
They asked the mums to leave the party room - not enough room for the kids to eat and mums to hover - I was a little reluctant but sat where I could eat lunch and still see dd1. She ate her lunch nicely and sat whilst the others ate - then went to come out to me until the party mum mentioned cake!! She hurried back to her seat - ate her cake nicely and then played some more in the play area....
she told me she had fun and yummy cake and she just seemed to have the best time. I also got to sit down and catch up with another mum.
So excited.
