Is there a register?

Thanks in advance.

There isn't a register sadly but if you join the ABA-UK yahoo group, lots of tutors read the emails there. Or ABA4All on Facebook. There is also a company called ABA Tutor Finder if you google

I presume you already have a consultant so could they recommend any tutors?
If you're willing to train someone up then you could use friends/family or get students from your local uni, have a look at nannying websites as they often list if they have special needs experience - we found someone through such a site and although she had no special needs experience she was great with our DS.
Also try contacting the university of Bangor as they run a masters in behavioural analysis and students come from all over the country so there may be someone near you.

ARGHHH how does it all work?

You get a consultant who is in charge of the program design etc and then you or tutors that you employ actually implement the programs. You can find a consultant through the sites that sickof mentioned or go on the BCBA website and search for one near you.

I would suggest you do a search on here of all the old threads relating to this as there will be lots of good advice.

Sign up on the aba uk yahoo group and ask for a consultant on there or you can post on the vbcommunity page. It's really not that complicated once you find a good consultant

Best of luck

Hi I am an ABA therapist ( but not a consultant ) the best was to start programme is to find an ABA consultant ( make sure he/ she is registered with BACB) BACB also have a list of consultants in the UK or try ABA yahoo group, ABA tutor finder or VB community. You need to sign up for all on them.
Once you have a consultant start looking for tutors. As an ABA tutor I support my client both at home and school setting. Hope that helps

Ankmariana, if you have whatsapp you could join the group 'speakeasy ABA'. There are lots of parents and ABA tutors who can provide you with advice and support.

Hi,could anybody tell me please?how much a consultant fees please?many thanks

5Flowersforme · 04/03/2019 14:16

Hi,could u tell me please about consultant fees ?any idea please

SinkGirl · 06/03/2019 09:26

I found a site a while ago which listed fees -it was around £50k for a full time course in London or Birmingham, or hundreds per hour for the consultant to deliver training and workshops which are frequent.

It’s completely beyond our means - I also found a FOI request stating that our council only funds ABA for one child in the whole borough at present. We have no hope of funding.

I’m doing what I can myself but it’s very frustrating not being able to afford to access these things while they are still so young.

Juni2017 · 19/05/2019 13:19

Do you have a ‘speakeasy ABA’ whatsapp group link ?

asdmommy · 25/05/2019 12:56

What is this speakeasy group? How can I join? I would like to pls!

Mummy0ftwo12 · 26/05/2019 16:27

I think there is a charity group that runs a couple of Saturday groups for aba, one in west London and one in Liverpool. There is also Blue Sky Autism in London and Scotland which is a charity that does something similar to ABA - PRT?
