After a convo with the head on the phone yesterday where she said DS was fully supported as he had a classroom assistant that id never heard about i asked today for his school records. Was informed that there was nothing in there that i hadnt seen already so i said oh ok what about his iep head said yes that was done in feb i said no it was due for renewal in feb she replied oh thats something we will have to sort out , yes i said so there isnt another one then that i havent seen yet , no she replied , oh ok i said so where is the information about this classroom assistant he has to support him on his return to school then , ah he hasnt actually got a classroom assistant of his own but there is one in the class and DS knows who she is .

fully supported my arse what a liar she is and now she knows i know shes covering her back HA

Well done to you for questioning her about it all. She sounds very much like a headteacher that i used to work for (a real cow). I was a SENCO and she was always very 'inventive' with how children were supported and it made my blood boil because as SENCO it was often me dealing with IEP's and the parents.
It wouldn't have been so bad if she'd have just told you the truth about it, instead of blatant lies.
Ask for a brief meeting with the Head, SENCO and classteacher to discuss IEP and support issues.

You need to talk to an eduationala dvisory service- I ent to SNAp for similar last week and they were excellent, but thy are in Wales (not sure if there's an English one). IPSEA?

have you got a copy of the SEN code of practice? it's free from the DES order line, and deatisl all the rights / procedures that HAVE to be followed.

I'm sick and tired of kids who need 1 to 1 support not getting it.

It isn't eenough for tem to be supported in some classes FFS!

We have got a meeting on tues with ed phych,Lea, mental health worker,head and senco as DS is refusing to go to school. So after months of me requesting statements asking school to do something with regards sons support , education ,and the bullying they are scared cos they have done nothing and have effectivly caused this latest situation and are trying to cover there backs and im having none of it.
I tried to ring ipsea but couldnt get through and with such a short time span til this meeting i got hold of cerebra instead and they have a representaive near me so she is coming with me as well as DS key worker think it will end up with DS changing school but been advised to make sure its the lea desison so that i dont have to pay the transport costs they do and im not prepared to accept anything other than a statement now as waited 7 months for school action plus to be put into place to no avail.

Have read your initial posting and am appalled (though not altogether surprised) by the way school has behaved. Feel for you both as you have both been let down very badly.

Unless there is a Statement in place your son will not in a month of Sundays get a TA to give your son individual attention.

You do not have to rely on school to apply for a statement; there is nothing to stop a parent writin gthemselves to the LEA requesting such an assessment.

To my mind IEP's are not worth the paper they are written on especially if they are not acted upon.

I did apply for a statement myself but as the school didnt back me and said they could meet his needs the LEA said to put him on school action plus, so cids were due to assess for that in march but cancelled on me in the morning of assessment and not been seen since , was told i could reapply for statement in october if what they implimented made little or no difference to DS but as they havent even seen him and october is only 2 weeks away dont know wether they will do statement or i have to still wait for cids ??

You can reapply in October, six months is the time limit and the lack of cids input will strebthen your appeal.

you really do need to speak to an eucation advocate- IPSEA can help, it's hard to get throygh but worth it. I'm not sure of your sosn's DX (sorry, befuddled brain thia AM LOL), but the charity (eg NAS) might well be able to help- NAS have an education help line that is very useful

Ipsea, both numbers on net do not connect so thats why i got hold of cerebra they are really good too and help with a full range of info and advice for families of children with brain related/neurological conditions including legal services postal lending library grants and they do an excellent booklet for applying for and reapplying for dla which tells you exactly what to put and how to word your application and they are coming with me to help they deal with a lot of school related stuff and i liked them cos they were really passionate about children with sn and the lack of provision .

Unfortunately IPSEA do not work weekends, I have found the best time to phone them would be mid to late morning.

How the LEA can seriously even think of putting your son who is AS co morbid adhd and school phobic on School Action plus is totally beyond me. SA plus in such circumstances will go no way at all into meeting his educational needs; it falls way short. There is no way this current school can meet his needs, I wish they could be more honest with you in this regard.

Both he and you are being failed here by this school and the LEA in question.
