We have just had someone over to assess ds for a Tomcat Trike. Ds (4) was so over the moon he just kept signing thankyou to the man. We walked to the end of the road and back, with ds pedalling the whole way (I was holding the parent handle). He looked so pleased when we got back.

A little bit beside himself when the trike had to go, and he is knackered now. But it was one of those moments where your heart just wants to pop!

Thankyou.

When we took the dd's to the bus stop this morning, ds took one look at his buggy, signed 'bike' and started howling!

The quote came through today, ulp. Will write my best pleading letter to as many charities as I can!!

Trikes are amazing and even the most involved child can often use them with support.

Contact all the charities now as you may need to spread the cost and the waiting times can be long. Also get your OT to write up the recommendation now to speed things up.

We were all set to do as you are after seeing DS ride one so well but the quote was over a £1000. Which would have been ok,but time was ticking on and charities had long wait times, so we looked on eBay and got a kitten trike which had never been used by the child (hip ops so not recommended) with all the supports for £250.

I know of one used a handful of times for sale. (Not ours)
