(this is one that will make Marina laugh)

she is saying knock knock jokes, expect there is no joke iykwim

they say 'knock knock'

we says 'who's there?'

she says 'mysterio' and laughs

or cena, or angle, or randy orton (yes she can actually say the two words together)

I dont know whether to laugh or cry!

I had to explain to our new childminder last week that dd's favourite toy was randy orton....the childminder replied 'well i have heard it all now'!!

followed by hysterical laughter. Perhaps I should introduce them to wrestling and your dd.

I don't believe it, my DD (nearly 5, globally delayed) is exactly the same, she is OBSESSED with wrestling, she plays with all the figures and takes them to bed and in the taxi to school with her. She cannot pronounce mommy properly, or put 2 words functionally together but for some strange reason can say 'Here is your winner Rey Mysterio, bouyaka boyaka' . In fact she doesn't say 'hello', she greets you with 'here is your winner' She has pretty severe feeding problems and sometimes the only time we can get her to eat is to sit her in front of the telly with the wrestling on!!! She too is into John Cena and Randy Orton!! Her current favourites are the Spirit Squad and Mr Kennedy, she goes around the house shouting Kennedy at the top of her voice. It can all get embarressing at times, but she gets so much enjoyment from it all and its not exactly hurting anyone!!

dellie, I am glad its not just my dd - she is globally delayed too! I feel embarrassed but she loves it, she does dancing aswell. (They have seen the playstation game, not the actual videos) I suppose that makes me a bad mother

Well that must make me a terrible mum because DD watches the wrestling on Sky!!

Be warned, this obsession started with the wrestling game her older brother had for his birthday, we then bought him some wrestling figures for christmas which DD promptly claimed - then proceded to have some wrestling figures for her birthday and it goes on....

Its amazing really as DD barely knows her colours, cannot count and can barely speak, but she can identify each wrestler by sight and entrance music and she can do most of the actions, like how Randy Orton puts his arms in the air and how John Cena flashes his hand in front of his face (her school actually put a note in her daybook asking what this new 'sign' was, so embarressing!!)
