On the Provision of Education for children with Autism. If anyone has had a difficult time with their LEA please ring/write and email your MP asap to try and make this debate worthwhile. This is a nationwide issue not just a Lancashire issue: www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/news/11324251.Burnley_MP_expected_to_lead_Commons_debate_on_disabled_boy____axed____by_school/?ref=la

Good luck to the parents in the story.
I would consider contacting my MP however I'm not sure whether they'll do anything - in my experience LA's like to minimise what goes on and if parents speak out their child suffers. I have had threats made to me in the past when I have challenged 'professionals'on their actions. :(
I have even had a judgement by the LGO state that there is 'no fault' in the LA breaking the law and not supplying education to a disabled child so what hope is there really? Parents have little recourse when everyone involved defends and supports each other.

Hi bunchofcarrots. I can very much relate having gone through a similar process myself as can the other parents who have pushed this debate forward. MP's have been shocked by the letters they have recieved so far, they thought it was the odd one or two famillies in their area which were having difficulties with their LEA instead they have had many cases brought to them, not just from Lancashire but across the country. If anyone wants to it is an opportunity to try to get heard at least. If not the debate will be live in the house of commons on July 17th so that if you are interested you know about it and can watch it either at the time or on the parliment tv on your computer when you can.
