Hello everybody, my question is: How do I know when my childs School cannot meet her needs? Academic ability isn't too bad, but Occupational Therapist insists upon statementing before secondary (my child is at the end of year 5 now) but school say there isn't enough evidence. We're currently accessing the Specialist Teaching Services, my child has borderline/low average IQ and fits an NVLD profile although that isn't a diagnosis. She cannot wipe her own bottom, has Sensory needs, SALT input (at times due to auditory processing difficulites) significant problems with fine motor skills, has sensory circuits at School, tics, anxiety, seen by CAMHS,problems with OT outside the remits of OT, Ed Psych input, Clinical Psych input, social interaction difficulties and learning difficulties. She also sees a Paediatrician. I would like to apply for a statement myself but don't know where to start, or how to define whether school meet her needs, or not. Any pointers on the matter greatfully received! Thank you in advance.
