Followed up the conversation Lougle and Obstacles had about this and by Jove, we are away! One of my students helpfully uploaded a clip to Youtube. So pleased. This will make life so much easier for so many children. It seems that mouse skills will no longer be needed.

^ that meant to say 'and although in Year 1 at the moment, he is currently reading Year 2 books'

Just an update to say that now you can access Headsprout directly from an IPad app.

I am downloading puffin currently as App Store won't play for me. Just a question. Would a child who has very poor hand control be able to get anything from this? Also non verbal? We have proloquo2 go and are using a keyguard. It's the shaky hand movements which may cause difficulties.

Are you using the ipad? If so, all you need to be able to do is tap a letter/word/object with a finger.

DS can manage that but that doesn't sound too bad lougle. Thanks Thanks. Yes ipad. Proloquo2go is good because you can alter the length of time the 'hold' is and get rid of most of the accidental finger dragging.

I'll do the free trial and see how it goes. DS only achieving 3 at upper foundation, which is a zero really Sad.

Sorry another question. Can the headsprout app be put onto more than one device like P2Go? DS has an ipad 1 which has an old IOS which can't be updated further so probably won't run HS. If it can I would like it on his ipad and my ipad 2 too as his sometimes stays in school.

Is there a page telling you all about the app? All I can find is very basic stuff and no technical stuff.
Thanks Smile

Yes the app can be put on as many Ipads as you like -you need your account Login to access headsprout so it stops you using it on two machines at once. You can also switch between ipad and pc. But you can't use the app on ipad 1, only ipad 2 or later. It shouldn't stop you using the puffin browser to access hs on the ipad 1 though.

Thanks so much. If it can go on a computer too I have a super duper touch screen monitor which will spread out the things to touch as it is huge so less chance of hitting the wrong thing. It also goes flat so will be with trying different angles.

I can load it onto my ipad for now.

Will try is as soon as our holiday ends in 2 weeks.

Please don't put the price up headsprout!

Thanks
