Is anyone else's autistic child stubborn about doing everything themselves?

I'm sure I read somewhere that autistic children were generally very dependant. Dd classic autism is not she strives very hard to be I dependant and do things her peers do even though it is often harder for her. She is very determined and dislikes me helping her. I personally am pleased with this as I feel it will help her greatly.

I just thought that autistic children generally tend to prefer being dependant, or am I wrong?

Anyone else's child like this?

Dd is opposite - but phenomenally stubborn determined on anything she's fixed on

Yes! "I do it my OWN self!" Is shrieked at me several times a day. She starts school innSeptember and I am hoping this will help stand her in good stead!

My DD (nearly 6) has been like this for a little while now. She insists on doing a lot of things independently. I think it's a great sign and gives me lots of hope for the future.

Mine is the opposite, he always asks me to help him.

Then again, my NT 7 year old would still have me completely dress her in the mornings if I'd agree to it.
She is extremely lazy. Would also prefer me to feed her too.

Ds1 regularly used to be heard shouting " do it!" when he was younger.

Now that the teenage years have arrived, he would be thrilled to have his own small army of servants to do everything for him. Hmm
