I am looking for a slim line mobile reclining chair on casters, for indoor use to buy or rent.

Slimline so it can be pushed through doorways.

Any ideas where to look please?

this kind of thing? JCM or smirthwaite or leckey all do seating, not cheap but things do come up on ebay and the second hand pages on facebook if you're on there Smile Usually they are the sort of thing your OT would provide so worth a try maybe?

Ds uses the smirthwaite juni on a hi lo base at school, it is great. As Ninja says, I would ask your OT/community OT to see if they could issue one.

Sorry guys I should have said its for an adult, my mum. She is coming home and needs a high dependency type chair. She cannot use her wheelchair anymore, as she cannot sit up straight for longer than about 5 minutes.

She needs a comfy chair to sit in, which can fit through door ways, so i can take her to different rooms and the garden, so I do not have to keep hoisting her from wheelchair to chair. Otherwise she will be spending all her time in bed.

I have been told OT will have to do an assessment, as its specialist equipment and that it will take weeks to come. We don't have time on our side, she is terminally ill.

sorry to hear about your mum claw2. Do keep on at the OT, it's like all things sn, squeaky wheel and all the usual stuff you know well.

this one is a leckey chair, there's also symmetrikit chairs. Put 'disability chair' into ebay, there's a few chairs that might be suitable in between all the risers. Few more here you might also find it's vat exempt which would help.

Thanks Ninja, ive managed to find one which meets all the requirements and I can hire, instead of buy, until OT assessment is done, IF they will agree to fund. We are transferring boroughs, as my mum is coming here.

At least I will have a chair here and we can get on with enjoying our time, while they argue about all the red tape, who will assess, who will fund and the usual rubbish.
