SENDIST, LA agreed to everything last minute

I wonder how many families are going through an appeal process only to spend many months and thousands of pounds and then the LA agrees to everything last minute? We did build a very strong case and had wonderful legal support (D. Phillips is fantastic!) and excellent independent reports. All this was ready and submitted pretty much at the beginning of the whole process, but we were forced to invest a lot of money and time, and afterall they agreed to everything they already had for many months ... Did anyone ever succeed in claiming money back??

That seems so unreasonable. If they agree without any extra evidence being submitted, they should be liable for the costs. Everything seems to be weighted against parents and in favour of LEA. Sorry dont know if you can claim anything back but really hope so after all the stress you must have been through.

Thank you, Shelsco, it is very unfair, however, we are wondering whether it is worth it to start a new battle ... We should, really, we know that many parents face the same situation and someone has to stand up against it. But on the other hand, we are just relaxing now and want to focus on our "normal" life. If we do it we'll get more messages out!!
