As above had ados test 8 weeks ago and it was supposedly the last part of the multi disclipinary assessment but they were unorganised as didn't know if school observation had been done yet but said it should have been.

8 weeks I've been waiting for results as to whether son on the spectrum and ii think they taking the piss as I've complained about them so much . His long did everyone else wait?

I had to wait ages. All assessments were done by Feb/March then i had to wait for DS's case to be discussed at panel. Then once panel had discussed the secretary phoned to say offer an appointment with panel lead 10 days later where i had to go the hospital to be given the results in person. Finally got the appointment with the panel lead mid May where i got the results. He was running 90 minutes late as well which did not help at all when your sat there waiting to find out if your son as ASD.

Have you phoned them to ask how long it will be?

Yes they are, I received results two weeks later.

seem to think mine was a while as dh was away for 3 months as in the armed forces and they wouldn't let me have the results until he came back as they wanted to tell us together!!!

We had Ados for DD in early Feb, at end of multi-disciplinary assessment process. Her result was borderline so they wanted to observe at nursery, which didn't happen until 2 weeks ago (in spite of numerous entreaties/follow up calls to get it done asap)- so we will finally find out if/what diagnosis we get next Friday, exactly 4 months(!!) after the Ados.

Tbh I already know she has ASD, and so the diagnosis will be only formalising what I already know. But if I had been waiting on a diagnosis to end that knife edge misery of is she/isn't she that preoccupied me in the early months, it would probably have given me a nervous breakdown having to wait this long! Yes, I think a delay of any more than a couple of weeks is taking the piss, I'm sorry we've both had to endure it.

We was told straight after ADOS in a feedback session whilst Ds was in another room. 3 weeks later written report came through. Whole process took 13 months with ADOS being the final stage.
I think 8 weeks is a ridiculous amount of time to wait for ADOS results .

My daughter had her ados at the beginning of march followed by school observation, we had an appointment last week and although she scored 12 which is well within the criteria and also her observation showed the same behaviour they are doing a few more tests yet so no diagnosis but been told we are more than likely looking at autism and other things. So its been quite a while to last weeks appointment then no definite but im glad they're being thorough, hope its not much longer for you
