We are at the end of our tether with our dd and despite being broke we are contemplating engaging a private child psychologist.

A quick google found Suzie Mitchell in Sheffield. Does anyone have any knowledge of her at all?

I have heard of her and tried to hire her earlier this year for DS's appeal but she was too busy and said she had a lot of work with the high court.
High court work makes me think she sounds reputable but i don't know any more other than what is already out there on google.

I was recommended a bloke called Charles Ward (Ward Psychology). He came down to where i live in South Yorks to carry out assessment for DS. His assessment was completely spot on, he totally understood DS's difficulties and needs. He has lots of experience with ASD and it really showed in his report.

Thanks! That's really interesting. Can I please ask what you got out of getting a report done? Was it to access outside support, obtain a diagnosis, or did it give you practical strategies I. Dealing with your son"s difficulties?

The report was specifically for a tribunal to get my son into an indie special school rather than to move him to another ms with an ASD unit.
My son is now in an indie special school :D

The report sets out what his needs are, what his difficulties are and what sort of teaching/support/provision he requires to meet his needs. It also gave a list of amendments that the EP felt needed to be made to Part 2 and 3 of DS's statement.
It doesn't set out any strategies because that wasn't what we were asking for and there has been lots of professionals involved over the past 5 years who have already given support and strategies.

What are looking to get out of an assessment? Has DC been seen by council EP?

We are stuck in a loop. CAHMS won't see her because she has a diagnosis of ASD, autism parent support team referred us to school as they feel issues are rooted in school. Tbh issues are everywhere but only manifest at home. School autism team pointed us back to parents autism and CAHMS...

We need someone to teach her strategies to control her frustration. She won't listen to me and today shredded "what to do when your temper flares" during her 6h rage. In desperation dh suggested we tried to get her help privately from a psychologist, so I googled.... I have no idea if this is viable (am too frazzled)
